Two women killed, 3-year-old injured after Polaris crash

Two women were killed and a 3-year-old was injured in a single-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in Waterford Township.

According to the Waterford Police Department, around 5 p.m. Saturday a 2019 Polaris RZR was traveling at high speed northbound on Jones Road near Hatchery when it left the roadway and crashed into a tree.

The driver, a 42-year-old woman, was trapped inside the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Both passengers, a 31-year-old woman and a 3-year-old girl, were ejected from the vehicle. The woman died later at McLaren-Oakland Hospital. The girl was taken to Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital and is expected to make a full recovery, police said.

Police said they do not believe the passengers were wearing seatbelts.
