Sikura, 24, has not scored a goal in 38 NHL games over two seasons, including 33 games last season.
The Hawks acquired Quenneville, 23, from the Devils last week for forward John Hayden. He had two goals and three assists in 33 games with the Devils.
The contracts are identical, and each carries a $750,000 salary-cap hit. They are two-way deals for the first year of the contract, which means each player will receive a $700,000 salary when he is in the NHL and a $250,000 salary when he is in the AHL.
The second year is a one-way deal with each player receiving $800,000 whether he is in the NHL or AHL.
Sikura and Quenneville have underachieved so far in the NHL but have found success in the AHL and will get an opportunity to make the Hawks. Sikura was second on the Rockford IceHogs last season with 35 points (17 goals, 18 assists) in 46 games.
Quenneville had 39 points (18 goals, 21 assists) in 37 games for the Devils’ AHL affiliate in Binghamton last season and has 46 goals and 73 assists in 138 career AHL games.
Forward Brendan Perlini, also a restricted free agent, is expected to remain with the Hawks. Forward David Kampf reportedly did not receive a qualifying offer and will be an unrestricted free agent, but the Hawks are interested in signing him to a new deal.
