Carmel Valley

Born on October 19, 1942 and passed away November 11, 2024. Big Dan grew up in Carmel Valley with his parents, Bob and Ethel, brothers Bobby and Gary and sister Charlotte. He went to Carmel High School, where he played Football and ran track. He received a scholarship to San Jose State for track. After college he went into the sheet metal trade. He spent over 50 years in the sheet metal local union 104 before retiring.

He married his high school sweetheart Wanda Ann Giles. They have three children, Daniel Russell Moore, Brenda Diane Nottenkamper and Shannan Marie Plotzke. They have six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Big Dan and his wife Ann were married over 55 years, they lived on Schulte road where they raised their family and opened their hearts and doors to many.

Dan loved his ranch, farming the fields on his tractor. He loved having family and friends come on the weekends to hunt, ride dirt bikes, enjoy good food, stories and laughter. Dan was an avid Hunter and fisherman which he enjoyed tremendously.

Join us for the celebration of life to honor Big Dan on March 22, 2025 at 1:00pm at the Carmel Valley community center for a Potluck BBQ, music, stories, laughter and tears.
