Age 85 of Eagan, formerly of St. Paul
Passed away on September 11, 2024, after a battle with cancer. He is preceded in death by wife, Marlene; parents, Raymond and Helen; granddaughter Jennifer Lanigan.
Survived by partner, Ellen Snustad; children, Tara (Tom) Lanigan, Patrick (Suzanne) and Michael (Tammy); grandchildren, Sarah, Brian, Taylor, Mitch, Connor, Ireland, Katelyn and Christopher; greatgrandchildren, Sierra, Kileigh, Caleb and Owen; greatgreat granddaughter, Ivy; siblings, Marilyn Kelly, Katie Salzer and Tim; brother-in-law Tony LeMay. He is greatly missed by his family and friends for his humor, intellect, thoughtfulness, and generosity. Graduate of Cretin High School, University of Minnesota and William Mitchell College of Law. He spent most of his legal career with the City of St. Paul Attorney’s office. He was appointed Administrative Law Judge with State of Minnesota, appointed to Board of Directors at City and County Credit Union. He donated his time to coaching little league football and baseball for HGRA and as a football coach for 10+ years at Cretin High School. After retirement, he was involved in Habitat for Humanity and a hospice volunteer. Visitation will take place at Church of Assumption, 51 7th St. W., St. Paul, MN 55102 on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. with luncheon after. Burial will be at Church of St. Peter Cemetery in Mendota Heights. In lieu of flowers, donations to Little Sisters of the Poor at littlesistersofthepoorstpaul.org are preferred.
