A 66-year-old woman was shot near a Walmart in Lansing on Saturday afternoon, according to the Lansing Police Department.

Police said they responded around 1:45 p.m. March 8 to a report of gunshots fired at a Walmart located at 17625 Torrence Ave. Upon arrival, officers found a 66-year-old woman in the parking lot who had been shot. The victim was given medical care and was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

Lansing police are investigating along with the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force. Police ask anyone with information to call 708-895-7150.
