82 Years Walnut Creek Dan passed away athome on Sunday May 25, surrounded by his family. He fought a long and courageous battle with prostate cancer and remained active until the last month of his life.
Dan was born and raised in San Jose, CA. and attended San Jose State and got his BS degree in Civil Engineering. His first job out of college was with Bethlehem Steel Corp.
While working in Pennsylvania, Dan met Hannah, who was a nurse at the Reading Hospital in Reading, PA.
Dan was then assigned to a project in Los Angeles.
Shortly after starting work in L.A., Hannah flew to LA for a visit. The visit ended up in Las Vegas, where Dan and Hannah were married.
That started 58 years together. They have two sons, Tom and Greg, and 4 grandchildren.
After moving to Walnut Creek in 1967, Dan changed careers. After getting a MS degree from Penn State in Transportation Engineering he began working for various cities as a Traffic Engineer.
He will be missed byhis many friends and extended family. Acelebration oflife will be held on Sunday July 6 at 12 noon in the Oak View Room at the Walnut Creek Library.
