Larry was born to Adams and Geogiana Bolton on November 11, 1932 in Corona, CA. Larry attended Chadwick School on the Peninsula, graduating in 1951. He began college at Occidental in Los Angeles, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1955 and was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. He met his wife Nancy in 1962 and they were married in 1964.

They were married for 54 years before Nancy passed away in 2017. Their first child Diane was born in 1966 and second daughter Suzanne was born in 1969. Larry has 2 grandchildren, William (25) and Lauren (23).

Larry was an industrial real estate salesman, beginning his career in 1967 at Coldwell Banker, which later became CB Richard Ellis. He was awarded the Highest Achievement Award in Real Estate Marketing shortly thereafter in 1969 and in 1982, where he was also among the highest producing personnel. He became Senior Vice President in 1991 and retired in 1998. In 1999, he was presented with the Larry Bolton Award, which was given to the Top First Year Sales Professional in the South Bay Office that demonstrated superior financial performance, exceptional client service and outstanding ethical conduct. Larry was responsible for many large projects, including the American Honda headquarters in Torrance, CA.

Larry enjoyed the game of golf and was a member of the Palos Verdes Golf Club for many years. In addition, he was active in the Peninsula Chapter of Children's Hospital for over 35 years. He also served on the board of directors for LA Bio Med from 2003 to 2006. His favorite pastime however in retirement was spending time with his beloved grandchildren, taking them on special trips with the family throughout their life.
