Eric John Lauterbach, born 11/10/1959, passed away in the presence of loved ones on 2/14/2025.
Eric lived an adventurous life filled with cooking delicious food for his loved ones, seeking thrilling experiences with friends, and learning a variety of trade skills. Eric's many travels all across the United States were often done on his motorcycles and dirt-bikes. He settled into the bay area in California during his early 20's where he met many lifelong friends.
Eric moved to Colorado in 1995 to eventually raise his two children, Emily and Sebi Lauterbach. Eric gave Sebi his first love in the world of sports by taking on coaching many of his teams in his childhood. This venture helped not only Sebi find a passion for sports but many of the children he coached. He supported Emily's love of the arts by running lines and sometimes constructing sets for the various plays she was in throughout her childhood. Eric spent the last three decades of his life living in Colorado restoring homes all across the state. Eric had a lifelong fondness of animals (dogs and penguins particularly), and even requested a donation to the ASPCA in the memory of his passing.
He is survived by his two children, many of friends who he shared adventures with, or a cigar and a glass of scotch with, and a legacy of beautiful craftsmanship. The family will be hosting a celebration of life in honor of Eric on July 13th, 2025 in Gilcrest, Colorado. To RSVP to the event please email ericlautcol@gmail.com .
