This winter brings plenty of wine and beer-centric events to explore around the Bay.
Capitola Sip & Stroll: Noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Capitola Village. Sip and stroll your way through Capitola Village, where 20 shops will be hosting local wineries, from Burrell School and Bottle Jack to Whitehall Vineyards and Wright Station. Double IPA Festival: Noon to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, The Bistro, 1001 B St., Hayward. Coinciding with SF Beer Week, The Bistro’s 25th annual Double IPA Festival will offer attendees a chance to sample 80 different versions of this classic beer and even some Triples. Festival of Olives: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 15, Jacuzzi Family Vineyards, 24724 Arnold Drive, Sonoma. International White Wine Festival: Feb. 15 at the Mendocino County Fairgrounds in Boonville and Feb. 16 at participating Anderson Valley wineries. Sample gourmet food bites and white and sparkling wines from around the world at a grand tasting on Saturday, then head for the region’s charming wineries, which are hosting open houses Sunday. Lodi Wine & Chocolate Weekend: Feb. 15-16, participating Lodi wineries. San Francisco Beer Week: Feb. 21-March 2, various Bay Area locations. The Bay Area’s big brew fest returns with 10 days of beer-centric events hosted by breweries, bars, restaurants and other venues across the region and a lineup that typically includes beer brunches, collaboration brews, food pairings — cookies, anyone? — and the annual Double IPA Festival. ‘Uncorked’: 5 p.m. Feb. 22, CIA at Copia, 500 First St., Napa. Copia’s Flavors of Film series’ next event features the 2022 film “Uncorked,” about a man balancing his dream of becoming a master sommelier with his father’s expectations that he carry on the family’s Memphis barbecue joint.
