Clayton Kershaw made history Wednesday night at Dodger Stadium with his 3,000th strikeout, becoming the 20th pitcher in Major League Baseball to reach the milestone. But it wasn’t easy.
Kershaw needed a season-high 100 pitches against the Chicago White Sox, ending the sixth inning by getting Vinny Capra looking on a slider.
He left the game trailing 4-2 but joined one of baseball’s most elite clubs, earning an extended standing ovation from Dodgers fans.
