Man injured in disturbance at Arista Flats complex

A man was injured early Wednesday in a disturbance at the Arista Flats apartment complex in southwest Broomfield, where, police were told, there were possible shots fired, according to a law enforcement spokesperson.

Around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, Broomfield police received a call about a reported disturbance involving several people in the area of Parkland Street in the apartment complex that sits near the interchange of U.S. 36 and Colo. 121, according to Rachel Haslett, a spokesperson for Broomfield police.

A group of people got into a disturbance near the pool at the complex, and one man sustained a laceration to his face, Haslett said.

Shot casings were discovered at the scene, but no one was shot, according to Haslett.

Some people apparently left the scene before police arrived, according to Haslett.

Police believe not everyone in the group lived at the complex and that some of the people knew each other, Haslett said. Police made contact with the injured man and canvassed the area, she said.

Broomfield police did not immediately confirm to the Daily Camera whether authorities arrested anyone in connection with the incident.
