Hospital profits
Shame on UC Health hospital administrators. They’re an embarrassment to their dedicated health-care providers. Denver citizens tax themselves to help fund patient care at Denver Health. UC Health is the most profitable of the nonprofit hospitals, but they want more. They won a lawsuit with the state to get a bigger piece of the Medicaid pie, which will cost Denver Health and rural hospitals. If it’s not for the money, then the designation change should include relinquishing their nonprofit tax-exempt status.
Airport noise
I’ve lived in Longmont for over 25 years in the same urban location three and a half miles from the airport and routinely have to halt my conversation with a neighbor until the full throttle low flyer passes overhead. Who represents the thousands of taxpayers who’ve had enough and certainly doesn’t want to make things worse?
AC costs
Our air conditioners are working overtime due to the possibly second hottest summer. High usage of energy plus all the excess multi-units promoted by Biden can possibly increase utility costs to around $784 and demand produced electricity could be depleted.
TC Line
A few years ago, I stopped my subscription with the Times because of their bias. I decided a couple months ago to try again with one of the promotional offers. I have submitted a number of TC Line articles, and I found that things have not changed. It should be expected, I guess, since they are associated with the Boulder Camera. I follow all the stated rules, and yet more than half of my articles are not published. Needless to say, when renewal time comes, I will not renew.
Editor’s note: We do not always have room for all the calls that come in. Keeping calls short will give you a better chance of having your call selected.
Medical system
A story the Times-Call should be writing is about why, when you call a doctor, it takes two months, usually, to get an appointment anymore. What’s happened to our medical care system and why would be an interesting story with some research behind it.
Medicare changes
• For the writer on Medicare changes in today’s Times-Call, please check a channel beyond Fox News, and you’ll find a greater level of understanding of the changes in Medicare.
• For the caller today who discusses Medicare changes and their understanding that the losses of Medicaid coverage will only apply to undocumented or legal immigrants it is true that some undocumented individuals are covered by Medicaid but far more hardworking poor American citizens, disabled people, folks that are unable to work, far more people are going to be losing their Medicaid coverage than just the group that is referenced here, and perhaps maybe you need to increase your understanding by seeking more information.
