


Ava Brown and Ashley Ball combined to drive in seven runs as the Redwood High softball team maintained its share of first place in the MCAL following a 23-3 victory against San Rafael on Monday.
Elle McElreath and Gia Meyers had multiple hits for the Giants (11-7, 7-2) while McElreath and Hailey Carlton had two RBIs apiece. San Rafael (6-10, 3-5) played without both of its top two players in catcher Sophia Everett and pitcher Thomara Drummer.
Redwood scored 10 times in the second inning and eight more times in the third to break the game open early. All told, the Giants had 11 hits and drew 15 walks.
• Taryn Ellinthorpe pitched a complete-game two-hitter to keep San Marin tied for first place following a 15-2 win against Terra Linda on Monday. Ellinthorpe struck out seven and allowed one earned run. Taylor Testa (three hits, five RBIs), Lauren Fong (three hits, two RBIs, three runs), and Savannah Reynolds (two hits, three RBIs, two runs) had big days for the Mustangs (12-5, 7-2).
• The game between Archie Williams (12-4, 6-2) and Marin Catholic (10-4, 5-3) originally scheduled for Monday has been rescheduled for May 8.
• Elisa Cobb drove in three runs to lift Tam to a 7-4 victory against Novato on Monday. Ava Lee pitched a complete game, allowing four hits and four earned runs while striking out nine. Lee also had two hits and two RBIs for the Red-tailed Hawks (10-4, 5-4). Georgiana Castro had three of the four hits for Novato (5-14, 0-9) and Claire Hannan hit a two-run triple.
Prep baseball
Terra Linda scored three runs in the last two innings but the rally fell short in a 5-3 loss to Piner on Monday. Alex Rambo had two hits and drove in a run for TL (3-12). Thomas Martinez had an RBI single.
• Will Rothstein had the lone hit of the day for San Domenico (5-9, 1-4 BCL West) in a 10-0 road loss to Stuart Hall on Monday.
