Theory can work: Columnist Paul Krugman is mistaken in his assessment that deregulation and reduced taxes on the high-income sector has no benefit for those in lower income levels. The truth is that money flows downhill. He erroneously believes that those reductions occur as a one-sided benefit. Timing is important. Those reductions must be coupled with reasonable increases in benefits to the middle/lower class. Implementing only one aspect puts the other segment of society at a disadvantage. The problem is that the political parties have totally ignored this beneficial methodology.

Could be a lot worse: For those who complain about the climate in Illinois, it would be wise to remember that we’ve never had to endure a hurricane and autumn in Florida is only a drop in the humidity level.

Gas prices a world issue: Maybe you can explain how Biden is responsible for gas prices when the world market is experiencing the same problem? Do you think the price per barrel of domestic oil won’t charge the same as the world price? How does a president have power over this dilemma?

Chicago crime continues: Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot says crime in Chicago is down. Sounds like someone seeking reelection. People riding the CTA are getting hit over the head with a wine bottle, attempted kidnapping and let’s not forget the daily shootings in and around the city. Darren Bailey called the city a hellhole, perhaps the only comment he’s ever made that is true.

President Kamala: Gail Collins’ column Sept. 16 was just awful. She must be taking lessons from Ted Slowik. Kamala Harris as president, yikes. This country is being run by a president whose brain is asleep. At least for four years before him, we could afford to live, pay bills, eat, buy a car, save money, and have Medicare and medication we could afford. Let’s make America great again, not so much by Trump, but a leader that cares about the American people.

We need borders: We all know or have seen that a country is not a country without having borders. We’ve already had over two million migrants invading us through our nonexistent southern border. Until Biden’s Democrats stop the invasion and complete the wall, the USA might as well be referred to as the unbounded sanctuary areas.
