Bridging the Gap for Breast Cancer Fund presented its annual scholarship to Nyema Whitfield, a student from Pleasant Valley High School on May 16. The $3,000 scholarship is awarded to a student who has had to deal with the effects of Breast Cancer in their family. Money raised for the scholarship comes in part from the Canyon Oaks Country Club and its Pink Ribbon Open golf tournament. The tournament is supported by the Women’s Golf Club and North Valley Community Foundation. Applications for the scholarship will be posted on the North Valley Community Foundation website for 2026.
