


Colby Jackson and Sebastian Chick combined to one-hit Albany, and San Rafael baseball added power at the plate in Wednesday’s 7-2 road win. Jackson faced 17 batters in five innings, with six strikeouts, five walks, one hit and one earned run. Chick struck out three of the six batters he faced and walked three.
Senior Aedan Bardouf was 2-for-4 at the plate with a run and an RBI, while Jackson and junior Lachlan Royston also connected for a hit each. Jackson scored twice for the Bulldogs (1-2).
• Marin Catholic shut down Berkeley for a 2-0 home win on Wednesday. The Wildcats (2-0) are scheduled to host Alhambra on Saturday.
• Dara Zolfaghari and Henry Stoll had three RBIs apiece to lead Tam to a 12-5 victory in five innings over Vintage on Tuesday. Zolfaghari had three hits and a steal while Stoll had two hits and scored twice. Jackson Van Til pitched four innings, allowing three hits and one earned run while striking out six.
• Joey Altman hit a game-tying, two-run double for Archie Williams in the fourth inning but Bishop O’Dowd bounced right back with five runs in the fifth en route to a 10-4 victory on Tuesday.
• Griffin Vorhaus worked four innings with one earned runs and six strikeouts to lift Novato to an 8-2 win against Montgomery on Tuesday. Cash Campbell struck out five over two innings. Gio Castaing and Trevor Cleary had two RBIs apiece for the Hornets.
Girls basketball
No. 6 Redwood saw it’s section title run come to an end on Tuesday following a 50-32 road loss against No. 2 Bishop O’Dowd in Oakland. The Giants (22-9) move into third-place game on the road against No. 1 Clayton Valley Charter (22-8) at 7 p.m. on Friday.
College baseball
College of Marin put together three big innings for a 16-0 rout of San Mateo on Tuesday. The Mariners (8-7-1) scored four times in the third, five in the sixth, plus five more in the eighth to take a 14-0 lead.
Former Novato High standout Derek Bartram had a game-high three RBIs on two hits. Adrian Ruiz paced COM with three hits. Wyatt Davis, Ruiz, Caden Sta Maria, Gilbert Roth, and Dante Caiati drove in two runs apiece for COM.
Former Redwood High standout Charles Veley pitched seven innings of two-hit ball while striking out five.
Boys tennis
Ishwar Jayaraman rallied for a three-set win at No. 2 singles to help The Branson School to a 7-0 victory over Marin Catholic on Wednesday. Jayaraman fought back against the Wildcats’ Milo Vidyarthi for a 1-6, 6-1, 10-7 victory. Chase Hoeveler, Finn Higgins and Mason Osborne complete the Bulls’ sweep in singles play.
• Lukas Berger and Tug Ricordel both won 6-0, 6-0 at Nos. 1 and 2 singles, and Liam Martinez won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles as Redwood edged San Marin, 4-3, on Wednesday. The Mustangs’ Alexander Christfort rallied 4-6, 6-2, 10-4 to win at No. 4 singles.
• Sam Zail won a tiebreaker at No. 2 singles as Tam swept San Rafael, 7-0, on Wednesday. Zail won 5-7, 7-6, 1-0.
• Dylan Donner of Archie Williams High survived a challenge from Hendrix Quesenberry at No. 3 singles as the Peregrine Falcons swept Novato, 7-0, on Wednesday. Donner won 6-3, 7-5. Fin Donnelly and Two Donnelly won at Nos. 1 and 2 singles, respectively.
• Tommy Higgins and Hoeveler picked up wins at Nos. 1 and 2 singles, respectively, as Branson secured a 7-0 win against Archie Williams on Tuesday. Jayaraman and Griffin Cooper also had singles wins for the Bulls.
• Witt Bulger, Diego Castillo, and Nathan Bandoureres picked up singles wins to lead Tam to a 6-1 win against TL on Tuesday. Rupert Atkins had the lone win for TL at No. 3 singles.
Boys golf
Cole O’Connell tied for medalist honors at 35 to help Redwood edge Marin Catholic 288-289 at the Meadow Club on Tuesday. The Giants were bolstered by a 37 from Brody Root and 38 by Jack Mount, as Redwood’s top five golfers all came around under 40. The Wildcats’ Theo Anderson and Finn Henne also shot 35, with Rhys Jones at 39 as the top three Marin Catholic scorers.
• Tam and Redwood placed well while facing 25 East Bay teams at Wente Golf Club in Livermore on Monday. Ben Friedman placed second overall with a 69 and helped Tam finish fourth as a team with a 385. Abe Willard finished in a tie for third individually. Cole O’Connell led the Giants with a 44 and helped them place sixth as a team with a 388.
Boys lacrosse
Tam High picked up its first win of the young season with an 11-2 victory over University. The Red-tailed Hawks (1-1) are scheduled to host St. Francis on Saturday.
