Former resident of Groveland and Mt. View, CA

Jane (Strickland) McLuen (age 89) passed away on Tuesday, January 10th, 2023. Born in Burkeburnett, Texas, the youngest of 4, to Blanche Adeline and William Harmon Strickland. She lived in both Lawton and Norman, OK and participated in her church choir, Rainbow Girls and Eastern Star. While attending the University of OK, she met Bob McLuen and they married on January 16th, 1953.

After living in many states, in 1993 they retired in Groveland, CA., where they celebrated 56 years together until Bob’s passing in 2009. Jane was a very talented pianist and painter. She was always very loving, kind, optimistic, gracious, and supportive of friends and family. Jane is survived by her older brother, Dan Strickland, her daughters, Cindy Sauln (Al), Charlotte Brown (Mitch Collins), Mary Buchanan, 4 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, and many nieces and nephews who will miss her very much.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 4th at 2pm at Covenant Presbyterian Church, Palo Alto, 670 East Meadow Dr. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church www.covenantpresbyterian.net or Community Hospice of Modesto, hospiceheart.org.
