KINGSTON, N.Y. >> Aquatic ecologist Stuart Findlay is scheduled to give a lecture on the ecology of the Hudson River on Wednesday, Sept. 24, according to an announcement.
The lecture, titled “Hudson River Ecology: How is the River Doing and How do we Know,” will be held at 7 p.m. at the Hudson River Maritime Museum, 50 Rondout Landing.
Findlay will discuss the effects of both natural phenomena and human activities on the river, including climate change, showcasing examples from his own research and monitoring, the announcement said.
Findlay, who has worked on the Hudson River for over 30 years, works closely with the Hudson River Environmental Conditions Observing System and directed the installation of a monitoring station that continually records the river’s salinity, dissolved oxygen, pH, turbidity, and water elevation, the announcement said.
The lecture is open to all, with admission costing $10 for general admission and $5 for museum members.
