The Lake County coroner’s office confirmed in a release Tuesday evening that neither foul play nor trauma is suspected in the death of a Hobart man whose body was pulled from Lake George.
The manner of death for Nathaniel Betz, 25, is still pending, according to the coroner’s office, which noted that Betz’s family identified him at the scene.
Hobart authorities have said a fire department dive team recovered Betz’s body Monday night, and that his family had requested a welfare check on Monday.
With the assistance of an Indiana Department of Natural Resources sonar equipment, Betz’s body was found about 10 p.m. Hobart’s water/dive team, its drone task force and search and rescue units were working with regional emergency crews to locate him, police have said.
The coroner’s office was called to Jerry Pavese Park, 500 S. Lake Park Ave., shortly after Betz’s body was recovered.
