Every year, usually around the holidays, I watch one of my favorite movies, “Love Actually,” a sappily sweet yet sometimes heart-wrenching story of eight different couples in various stages of their relationships. But, as the years go on, the opening lines of the film still hit home: “Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion’s starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don’t see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often, it’s not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it’s always there — fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends and old friends.” So, I’d love to shine a light on love and all the different forms it can take: love for one’s family, friends and pets, romantic love and love for oneself. Because, like the movie says, if you look for it, “love is actually all around.” Whatever comes to mind, I’d love to know.
