Isaac Collins belted a three-run homer, and Jackson Chourio and Daz Cameron each hit two-run shots as the Milwaukee Brewers won their 12th consecutive series against the Cincinnati Reds with a 9-1 victory on Wednesday.

Abbott retired the first eight batters before Brice Turang doubled and scored on Andruw Monasterio’s single to put the Brewers ahead 1-0 in the third.

Chourio’s two-out, two-run homer off Abbott in the fifth made the score 3-0. It was Chourio’s 10th homer this season.

Rockies starter Kyle Freeland allowed two unearned runs over 6 1/3 innings. Freeland (1-8) scattered four hits and struck out four for his first victory since a 4-1 win against the Milwaukee Brewers on Sept. 8, 2024.

Colorado, which began the series with a major league-worst 9-50 record, won its third straight for the first time this season. It was the Rockies’ first three-game sweep since they beat the San Diego Padres in May 2024.

Pirates 3, Astros 0: Pittsburgh’s Mike Burrows held Houston in check into the sixth inning to pick up the first victory of his career as a starter as the Pirates topped the Astros.

Diamondbacks 2, Braves 1: Merrill Kelly allowed one hit in seven dominant innings, outpitching eight-time All-Star Chris Sale, and Arizona held off scuffling Atlanta.

After walking three batters in the ninth and hitting another with a pitch, forcing home a run, Arizona reliever Justin Martinez struck out Michael Harris II with the bases loaded to end it.
