What will happento Orland Square mall is the same that happened to Ford City, Dixie Square, Lincoln Mall and others. It will become vacant and then eventually be demolished. When you have punks with their pants half off using the mall as hang out, nothing good becomes of it. They have no money to spend and the people that do will go elsewhere where it’s safe. Water Tower Place on Michigan Avenue has the same dynamic going on.

Legislators in Springfield, who haven’t met since May, are looking for a way to convene virtually. While much of the world has been working this way for almost a year, they’re just now trying to figure it out? What they’ve confirmed is that they’re not nearly as essential as they’d like us to think. Maybe they should start by talking to a retail clerk, office worker or teacher.

Mary, Tinley Park

Black lives matter, Blue lives matter, all lives matter. Truth be told, few lives really matter no matter who you are unless it’s a friend, a family member, a co-worker or even a casual acquaintance. Most of us just don’t care. Sorry, but that’s really the way it is. And by the way, I’m not pointing a finger at everyone else, I’m included on that list.

James from Tinley Park complains that Trump pardoned people who were murderers. He must be a Democrat because you better look at what Lightfoot is doing, what Kim Foxx is doing. Gang members, oh we’re going to let them out early, they repented, they see the way. It’s good for the Democrats to do it but when a Republican does it everybody complains about it. The way I look at it, when the law was broken it was broken. You don’t turn around and expunge somebody’s record over something that was illegal at the time.

The good newsis you did get something in reference to Social Security increases for this year. It was announced the average increase was about $25 a month. I received a letter from my insurance company that my premiums would go up $20 more per month, and don’t forget the good old cable bill, it will also increase. But sometimes you have to look at the bright side. At least you have an additional amount to help you pay for the increases.
