Alcohol suspected in deadly crash on I-25

A Colorado woman is suspected of vehicular homicide and drunken driving after she crashed into a vehicle that was stopped along the side of Interstate 25 in Broomfield for a flat tire, killing two people.

Broomfield police announced the charges that will be filed against the woman Friday but did not identify her because she is still hospitalized, according to a news release.

The two people killed in the crash were identified by the Adams and Broomfield County coroner’s office as Yajing Liu, 35, and Shuangyue Chen, 64.

The crash occurred at 10:15 p.m. Oct. 6 on northbound I-25 between 144th Avenue and Colorado 7 when the woman struck a vehicle parked on the side of the road for a flat tire.

Two people were killed in the crash, one inside the vehicle that was struck and one outside, according to Broomfield police. The woman and two others, including a young child, were taken to hospitals with serious injuries.

Police searching for man in kidnapping

Englewood police are searching for a man suspected of kidnapping and assault after he dragged a woman away by her hair while she was asking for help at a Burger King on Oct. 12.

An arrest warrant for Gilberto Adelaido Cruz, 31, was issued out of Arapahoe County District Court, according to the Englewood Police Department.

A woman reportedly went into a Burger King at 900 West Hampden Avenue in Englewood asking for help.

While she was in the restaurant, Cruz came in and dragged her out by her hair and left with her in a black Cadillac Escalade with a damaged passenger-side mirror, according to Englewood police.
