


Good news about Marin people
Recognition: Two Marin residents won awards in Toastmasters District 57’s evaluation and speech contests: Dave Kanter, of Larkspur, won first place in the evaluation contest, and Dave Blum, of San Rafael, won second place in the international speech contest.
Recognition: Reese Larson, of Mill Valley, and Spencer Springfield, of Kentfield, were selected to represent California at Breakthrough T1D’s 2025 Children’s Congress in Washington, D.C. Breakthrough T1D, a global type 1 diabetes research and advocacy organization, has selected more than 1,000 kids with type 1 diabetes to serve as delegates since its first Children’s Congress in 1999.
Recognition: Recent Novato High School graduate Jonathan Bartnicki received a $2,000 scholarship from the Bel Marin Keys Women’s Club for his essay “How Living in Bel Marin Keys Influenced My Life.” Bartnicki will attend San Diego State in the fall.
