Kenneth Lee Grotzky passed away on January 26, 2025 in Greeley, Colorado.
He was born on September 13, 1949 in Boulder, CO to Virgil and Annabeth (Cohagan) Grotzky in a house built by his father and grandfather.
Kenneth graduated from Boulder High School in 1967 and went on to serve in the United States Army from 1969 - 1971 serving in Germany.
In 1974 her married Sheila Powell, and together they celebrated 50 years together in 2024.
Kenneth worked for Xcel Energy for 38 years as a pipefitter and welder before retiring in 2006. He was of the Roman Catholic Faith and belonged to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers 111, the Boulder Woodcarvers Club and the Boulder Genealogy Society.
In his free time Kenenth enjoyed woodworking, metal working, spending time with his family and grandchildren, world travel including five trips to Ireland, Christmas Markets in Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, visiting museums and researching genealogy.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Kenneth is survived by his wife Sheila Powell Grotzky; his sons Morgan, John and Alexander; his grandchildren Madison and Stella Grotzky of Gig Harbor, WA, and Sarah Grotzky of Woodbridge, VA; his four sisters and numerous cousins.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
