CHICO >> Those looking to stock up their fridge and pantries with local goods now have an extra option beyond farmers markets.
The Chico State University Farm Stand is back for the second year and the selection is growing with the current offerings being sweet corn, flowers, honey, cantaloupe and white cheddar cheese as well as watermelon and squash on the way.
Running the stand on Wednesday was Lauren Weller, a student assistant who works in the crops and orchards unit.
“We grow all of what we have at the farm stand,” Weller said.
The stand is open from 8 a.m. until noon, Wednesday through Friday, though it will close for the Fourth of July. People can find the stand at 311 Nicholas C. Schouten Lane, just outside of the University Farm.
