‘SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME’

What it’s about: The follow-up to “Spider-Man: Homecoming” follows Peter Parker and pals on a European tour, where they encounter the Elemental monsters and the mysterious Mysterio.
The kid attractor factor: It’s a Spider-Man movie? Comic/superhero!
Good lessons/bad lessons: With great power comes great responsibility, and in a post-Avengers world, Spider-Man is looking to unload some of the burden of responsibility.
Violence: Some action violence — destruction of cities, etc.
Language: Some swearing.
Sexuality: References to teen sexuality/kissing, etc.
Drugs: None.
Parents advisory: Great for the whole family but too scary for younger kids.
‘MIDSOMMAR’

What it’s about: A group of American grad students travels to Sweden for a midsommar celebration and find themselves immersed in an isolated world of bloody, disturbing folkloric rituals.
The kid attractor factor: Coming from “Hereditary” director Ari Aster, there isn’t much in the way of attraction for kids.
Violence: Some gory body horror and disturbing bloody images. Murder, suicide and ritualistic mayhem.
Language: Some swearing.
Sexuality: Graphic nudity and sex.
Drugs: On-screen consumption of magic mushrooms and other mysterious hallucinogenics.
Parents advisory: Mature teens only.
‘ANNABELLE COMES HOME’

What it’s about: The third “Annabelle” film features the scary doll breaking out of the Warrens’ room of cursed and haunted objects and wreaking havoc on their daughter, Judy.
The kid attractor factor: Teens will be into the throwback ’70s horror, familiarity with the characters.
Good lessons/bad lessons: Don’t go meddling where you shouldn’t meddle.
Violence: Some extreme images of bloody gore, violence, ghosts, ghouls, spooks, etc.
Language: None.
Sexuality: None.
Drugs: None.
Parents advisory: OK for teens but too intense for children.
