


Eden Clark pitched a complete-game shutout and drove in the only run of the game as the Tam High softball team defeated Redwood 1-0 on Wednesday.
Clark allowed four hits and struck out 12 to earn the victory for Tam (11-4, 6-4 MCAL). Clark also hit an RBI double in the bottom of the sixth inning to score Zoe Pletcher.
Redwood (11-8, 7-3) tumbled out of a first-place tie with the loss despite another stellar performance from pitcher Stella Belluomini, who allowed three hits and struck out 14 in seven innings. Hailey Carlton had two hits for the Giants.
• Kennedy Dunsing had three hits and drove in two runs as Archie Williams held off San Rafael for a 5-4 victory on Wednesday. The Peregrine Falcons (13-4, 7-2) scored twice in the top of the fifth to take a 5-1 lead but San Rafael (6-11, 3-7) responded with three runs in the bottom of the frame after loading the bases with no outs on consecutive singles by Lila Kim, Giselle Grul, and Sophia Everett. Paige Murphy allowed five hits and three earned runs in seven innings, notably getting out of a bases-loaded jam in the sixth inning to preserve the lead. Archie Williams moved into a first-place tie with idle San Marin.
• Claire Hannan tossed a one-hitter and Allie Tubach hit a bases-clearing triple to help Novato secure its first MCAL win of the season, 7-3 against Terra Linda on Wednesday. Georgiana Castro tripled to lead off the bottom of the first inning then Tubach drove in three runs with another triple to make it 4-0. Novato (6-14, 1-9) scored six times in the first inning. Hannan allowed one earned run and struck out four to earn the win. Eleanor Johnson hit an RBI triple for TL (8-8, 2-8)
