The New Haven Health Science Program continues to inspire future healthcare professionals with its comprehensive offerings and impressive results.

This year, students have the opportunity to earn industry-recognized certifications in both Patient Care Technician (PCT) and Physical Therapy Aide through two standout tracks: the Medical Careers Program and the Sports Medicine Program.

The Medical Careers Program prepares students for the demanding field of healthcare by providing them with hands-on experience and the knowledge needed to become certified Patient Care Technicians. Meanwhile, the Sports Medicine Program offers an in-depth curriculum leading to Physical Therapy Aide certification.

Both programs are utilizing the latest in educational technology, such as the state-of-the-art virtual 3-D Anatomage table, which allows students to explore human anatomy in unprecedented detail.

This technology enhances their understanding of the body, providing valuable insights that translate directly to real-world care.

In addition to the technical skills they gain, students in these programs are excelling in competitions. Fourteen out of 18 HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) participants from New Haven’s chapter have qualified for the upcoming State Competition in April, showcasing their impressive knowledge and dedication to the healthcare field.

The program also fosters community involvement.

The Medical Careers students have taken a leadership role in the school’s blood drives, hosting 2 out of 3 drives this year and surpassing their blood unit collection goals.

With both academic and practical components in place, New Haven’s Medical Careers and Sports Medicine programs are helping students build the foundation for successful careers in healthcare.

The passion and commitment of the students and faculty continue to shape the next generation of medical professionals.
