To the Editor:
Last month President Barack Obama complained he would take it as a personal insult if African Americans did not support Hillary Clinton like they did his candidacy. Now, personally insulted, his precious legacy is in tatters.
This election repudiated identity politics, insulting and biased journalism, corrupt politicians, coddling jihadists, climate extremism, stupid foreign aid and political correctness. Donald Trump’s movement is for protecting constitutional rights, restoring legal immigration, a simpler and fairer tax code, market driven health insurance and restoring middle class jobs.
Our founders were fearful of tyrannical majorities. They established rules for the popular vote for the House, the Senate by state legislatures and the president by the Electoral College, dispersing the process across the states in staggered elections. The race for president was never a national popular vote. We are not a democracy. We are a representative republic!
Since the 17th Amendment was passed in 1913, rules for senator selection were changed to popular vote precisely because progressives wanted to concentrate their power in Washington. To me, we should repeal it, not the Electoral College.
Prior to this election the progressive media nastily predicted rioting and violence if Trump lost. To me it was obvious that would happen if Hillary lost; thugs organized and paid by Democratic boss George Soros.
And now Obama is blaming Hillary, Hillary is blaming Comey and journalists and students are melting down, all in complete denial. The Democratic Party has been slammed by the wrecking ball that is President Obama. The American spirit lives!
