As the calendar moves closer to the spring season, we have a few announcements from our school district that will hopefully warm up your thoughts:
Strongsville City Schools is excited to introduce our new app for both iPhone and Android smartphones. Stay connected while you’re on the go with this free mobile app that will bring you the latest news, information, and events happening in our district. The app will deliver real time school news to your smartphone for fast, up-to-date access. The app features include the ability to check your student’s grades, get schedules for our athletic teams, view the lunch menus, and see photos from school events. The app will be available beginning Feb. 22. Search “Strongsville” in the iTunes App Store® or Google Play® to download this free app.
Kindergarten registration is happening next month in our district. According to state law and district policy, any child who becomes 5 years old on or before Aug. 1, 2017 is eligible for admission into the Strongsville School District’s kindergarten program this August. Registration information needs to be picked up at the elementary building closest to your home. This enrollment package contains specific details regarding kindergarten registration, information about Safety Town, school transportation and helpful hints you can use to prepare your child for kindergarten.
Registration will take place at the administrative offices (18199 Cook Ave.) and will be from 8 a.m. until noon. Dates for kindergarten registration are as follows: Chapman Elementary (Monday, March13) Kinsner Elementary (Tuesday, March 14), Muraski Elementary (Wednesday, March 15) Surrarrer Elementary (Thursday, March 16) and Whitney Elementary (Friday, March 17).
Additional information about kindergarten registration can be found at www.strongnet.org. Click on the “Kindergarten Registration” shortcut link along the right side of the site.
Renovations at Strongsville High School have been completed and the students are enjoying the brand new “Mustang Cafe” in the revamped Media Center space. The cafe features hot and cold beverages and “grab and go” food items. There are areas to meet and connect informally, as well as rooms dedicated for student meetings and group projects. The Media Center and Mustang Cafe give our high school students a dedicated area which is similar to a university’s student union — a place to not only socialize, but also to study and collaborate.
Thank you for your continued support of our students and Strongsville City Schools.
Go Mustangs!
