I will never forget Wadsworth florist Chris Ferguson
Letter to the editor
To the Editor:

I've not written to you before. I've thought about it, maybe one of those letters to the editor or guest writer of the week.

This is not the reason for my letter.

This week Wadsworth has a loss, maybe unknown by some, maybe loved by others.

The loss this week is of Chris Ferguson, owner, operator and florist, owner of Barlett-Cook Flowers on Main Street for many years.

Chris passed away suddenly May 21, a true loss for Wadsworth.

You see, florists, flower people – we are a rare breed – are people who love flowers and plants and people: people from Wadsworth, Rittman, Seville, Doylestown, Norton, Sharon Center and even people (customers) from all over the world. You see, in our flowers, we send joy, love, happiness and sometimes sadness. We help our customers. We share in that joy and sometimes with your grief.

Chris and her staff have served our town for years and years, I know. You see, I'm an expert on Wadsworth flower shops – I have worked in three in town, owned one and have loved Wadsworth customers.

Remember Daniel's Blossom Shop, Picket Fence Floral, Buehler's Flower Shop, Amedeo's Blossom Shop, Arpad's Flower Shop and all the rest plus "Barlett's." All of us, Wadsworth florists.

So now, remember Chris Ferguson.

And remember the staff. Send your love and special thoughts and fond remembrances.

Loved you, Chris.

Kelly Johnson
