A medical crisis can happen at any time, at any age. If you became seriously ill or were in a car accident and unable to make your own medical decisions, would your family know what to do?
Cleveland Clinic Akron General Visiting Nurse Service will offer a free “Advance Directives Workshop: Living Wills and More” April 27 from 5:30-7 p.m. at Akron General Health and Wellness Center, Green, 1940 Town Park Blvd., Uniontown. Attend this workshop to learn about the importance of creating your advance directives – including a living will and durable power of attorney for health care – legal documents that go into effect only if you are incapacitated and unable to speak for yourself.
Advance directives will help to ensure you get the medical care you would want, even when doctors and family members are making the decisions for you. Staff will be present to answer questions and assist with filling out your paperwork that night, if desired. This community program is free and refreshments will be served.
Register by April 14 by contacting Stephanie at 330-668-4683 or dillons@ccf.org.
