Wadsworth Police Department
April 6 – Police officers responded to the 300 block of State Street at approximately 1:30 a.m. in reference to a report of a suspicious vehicle at a private business. Police officers found the vehicle and after an investigation determined that the man inside the vehicle had allegedly provided false information about his identity. Officers reported finding a marijuana pipe in the man’s possession. The man was identified as Shaun Roland, 31, of Barberton. Officers reported the man had multiple active felony arrest warrants. Officers arrested the man and transported him to Medina County Jail.
Wadsworth Police Department
April 10 – Police officers took a report about a theft that occurred in the 100 block of North Pardee Street. The incident is under investigation.
April 10 – A resident from the 100 block of Southpark Drive reported an incident of identity theft.
April 10 – Police officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of West Bergey Street and Main Street shortly after 1 a.m. for an equipment violation. The driver, identified as Todd Vanderpool, 50, of Orrville, was allegedly in possession of marijuana. He was issued a minor misdemeanor citation for marijuana possession and was released.
April 9 – Police officers took a report about a burglary that occurred in the 100 block of Cherry Hill Drive. The incident is being investigated.
April 8 – A resident from the 100 block of Euclid Avenue reported the theft of multiple items from his residence. The victim said he believes his roommates took the property while he was in jail. The theft is under investigation.
April 8 – A resident from the 600 block of Trease Road reported she is being harassed via telephone. The case is under investigation.
April 8 – Police officers responded to the 200 block of Chestnut Street at approximately 2:35 a.m. in reference to a report of a suspicious vehicle. Police officers located the vehicle and after an investigation arrested the driver, Ryan Ladu, 25, of Chestnut Street, and charged him with OVI.
April 8 – Police officers were dispatched to a bar on Watrusa Avenue at approximately 11:30 p.m. in reference to a report of a fight with multiple individuals involved. After an investigation, police arrested Zachary Ryan, 23, of Mount Eaton Road and Elizabeth Zengerle, 29, of Woodlawn Avenue, charging each of them with assault.
April 7 – While serving a subpoena at a residence in the 200 block of Main Street, officers discovered that another individual at the residence had an active warrant from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. Police arrested the man, identified as James Drayer, 40, of Main Street, and transferred him to the custody of Wayne County sheriff’s deputies.
April 7 – Police officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Water Street at approximately 1:30 a.m. in reference to a report of an individual who was refusing to leave. After an investigation, police transported Darren Johnston, 33, of Water Street, from the residence. Officers also cited Johnston with possession of drug paraphernalia.
April 7 – Police officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Interstate 76 and state Route 261 at approximately 4:15 p.m. The driver, Sean Davis, 22, of Columbus, was cited for driving under suspension, possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
April 7 – Loss prevention employees from a Williams Reserve Boulevard business contacted the police department to report a shoplifting incident that had just occurred. Two females allegedly left the store with a handful of merchandise they didn’t pay for. The suspects left the scene before police arrived, but the suspects are known to loss prevention employees and charges are pending further investigation.
April 7 – A resident reported a theft of property from the back of her pickup truck while it was parked at a High Street business a week before. An investigation is pending.
April 5 – Police officers received a report about a bicycle stolen from the 100 block of North Pardee Street. The matter is under investigation.
April 5 – Wadsworth Municipal Court issued a warrant for Anthony Bell for failure to appear at a sentencing on a theft charge.
April 5 – Police officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on East Bergey Street at approximately 9:20 p.m. After an investigation a passenger, Bailey Jarnagin, 19, of Wintergreen Drive, was cited with possession of marijuana.
April 5 – Wadsworth Municipal Court issued a warrant for Justin Chmielewski for failure to appear at a sentencing on a possession of drug abuse instruments charge.
Norton Police Department
April 5 – Someone dented the siding and damaged a window frame on a 56-year-old Hametown Road woman’s house. She suspects a neighbor girl.
April 5 – Shalee S. Feathers, 26, was arrested by Summit County sheriff’s deputies on a misdemeanor traffic warrant out of Norton. She was taken to the Barberton City Jail.
April 5 – Someone stole a handgun from a 21-year-old Shellhart Road man’s dresser. He suspects a friend.
April 5 – A 51-year-old Norton Avenue man complained of threats his nephew has made since his sister moved out.
April 5 – A 60-year-old Greenwich Road man complained his daughter confessed to stealing his handgun last year and does not know what became of it. The man did not want to press charges but did want it listed as stolen in case it turns up.
April 5 – Someone stole a chainsaw from a Norton fire truck.
April 4 – Police went to Silver Creek Metro Park on a report of a man and woman waxing in and out of consciousness. Police say the man woke up and immediately reached under the front seat. Told to put their hands on the dashboard, the woman allegedly reached under the dash and the officer repeated the command. They were ordered out of the car and the woman, Amber N. Heath, 26, reportedly reached into her purse and tried to take it with her to keep it from being searched. The officer took it and allegedly found a small bag of white powder. She was handcuffed and the officer reportedly found a homemade pipe in her pantleg. She allegedly admitted the pipe and powder were hers, saying she used the pipe for pot and that the powder was heroin. A field test, however, showed the powder as neither heroin nor methamphetamine. It was sent to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Identification for more testing. The driver was released at the scene.
April 3 – Someone stole a concrete statue of the Virgin Mary from a 56-year-old Summit Road man’s yard.
April 3 – Tracy E. Shields, 37 and Candace M. Oberlin, 35, were both arrested for criminal trespassing after Shields’ pickup truck allegedly got stuck on railroad property off Grant Street.
