Make sure your congressman is fighting for what is right
letter to the editor
To the Editor:

After listening to all this crazy rhetoric, I went on a search for the truth. I found it with the accountants. That would be the Congressional Budget Office. Last week, there was a press conference on C-Span discussing our country’s budget and economic outlook.

As Americans we should all watch, I know it’s long but it seems that everyone has an opinion without taking the real facts into consideration. Here were a couple of highlights:

First, we are looking at a large increase in deficits in the near future which is due to: 1) Social Security and Medicare, 2) rising debt payments and 3) only modest growth in labor. All of these are due to an aging population (yes, we baby boomers seem to be the problem).

Second, in their opinion, the ACA (or Obamacare) does not appear to be in a death spiral, but by looking at the numbers it seems to be a market correction.

Regardless of what Newt Gingrich says, I believe that the men and women of this office don’t have an agenda, like the partisan politics that have plagued us over the last several years.

I really hope folks Google C-Span for this and listen to the whole 40 minutes, then call your congressman to make sure he is fighting for what is right and important to you and our great country.
