Wadsworth freshman Chris Steele competed in the Division I state bowling tournament on March 11 in Columbus. The Grizzly youngster was one of just two freshmen to earn individual berths.
Steele finished with a three-game total of 475 to tie for 45th place. He finished fourth among 10 freshmen overall. Steeleās day featured games of 171, 200 and 204.
Justin Moyer of Cuyahoga Falls, which competes against Wadsworth in the Suburban League, won the individual state title with a 788 series. That included a 298 in his second game. He left a split on the final throw of what was up until then a perfect game.
