Delbert Duane Packard, 88, of Ashland, passed away Nov. 12, 2016 at the Brethren Care Village in Ashland.

He was born May 18, 1928 in Chatham to Ernest L. and Sadie (Wolf) Packard.

He married Betty Joan Burr on April 9, 1950.

Delbert had been a mechanic for Cal Wible in Medina, and later at Ashland University, where he retired from in 1990.

He had been a member of the Izaak Walton League, Medina County Antique Power, Ashland County Yesteryear Machinery, LaGrange Engine Club, Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor, Silver King of Yesteryear (SKY) and Early Day Gas Engine and Tractor Association.

He is survived by his daughter, DelAnn (Spence) Miller of Wooster; grandchildren, Brenden (Becca) Miller of Chiang Mai, Thailand, Taryn (Ben) Wolf of Wooster and Jacob and Delaney Packard of Nebraska; and five great-grandchildren, Clara and Zeke Wolf and Maja, Emerson and Jude Miller.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Joan in 2015; son, Steven R. in 2011; sister, Alice Chidsey; and brothers, Lester and Wilbur.

The family extends their deep appreciation to Hospice of North Central Ohio, and Brethren Care Village of Ashland for Delbert’s care.
