Wadsworth Police Department
Jan. 6 – The police department received a call from someone at a Watrusa Avenue bar at approximately 10:30 p.m. who reported that a woman was punching people at the bar. Police officers arrived and made contact with the woman who reportedly refused to identify herself. She was arrested and charged with failure to disclose personal information and was transported to the Medina County Jail. The woman allegedly tried to kick at the patrol car during the transport. The officer contacted other units to assist and stopped at a business on River Styx Road to restrain the woman’s legs and prevent her from damaging the vehicle. The woman allegedly kicked at the police officer. Area agencies provided mutual aid and the woman’s legs were restrained. The woman, later identified as Tara Duncan, 31, of Mogadore, was transported to the Medina County Jail where she is being held on pending charges for felony assault on a police officer, a fourth degree felony and failure to disclose personal information, a fourth degree misdemeanor. She was also cited with disorderly conduct.
Wadsworth Police Department
Jan. 8 – Police officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on South Boulevard near Woodlawn Avenue at approximately 1 a.m. for an alleged stop sign violation. After an investigation the driver, Michelle Thome, 43, of Allen Drive, was cited with OVI and released.
Jan. 8 – Police officers responded to a Williams Reserve Boulevard business at approximately 5:45 p.m. in reference to a report of an intoxicated man with an open container inside the business. Officers reported that they came in contact with the man and said he refused to cooperate with officers and was eventually arrested. The suspect, Timothy Dean Weygandt, 32, of Akron, allegedly resisted arrest. He was charged with disorderly conduct with persistence, open container and resisting arrest and was transported to the Medina County Jail.
Jan. 7 – Police officers responded to the 200 block of Tolbert Avenue at approximately 5 p.m. in reference to a burglary complaint. After an investigation the victim decided not to pursue charges.
Jan. 7 – Police officers responded to the 100 block of Wolf Avenue at approximately 3:45 p.m. in reference to a report of a menacing complaint. An investigation is ongoing.
Jan. 6 – Police officers received a report about a theft that occurred in the 200 block of Great Oaks Trail. The matter is under investigation.
Jan. 6 – Police officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 100 block of Main Street just before 2 a.m. after observing an alleged moving violation. Following an investigation the driver, Alyssa Abney, 27, of Stratford Avenue, was arrested and charged with OVI.
Jan. 6 – Police officers stopped a vehicle in Memorial Park at approximately 11 p.m. for being in the park after hours. Officers reported finding marijuana inside the vehicle and on the person of one of the passengers. The case is under investigation.
Jan. 6 – An Acacia Lane resident contacted the police department to report a theft of personal information.
Jan. 5 – The police department took a report about a juvenile in possession of marijuana in the 100 block of Silvercreek Road. The report will be forwarded to the Medina County Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office for possible charges.
Jan. 5 – Police officers were dispatched to a Williams Reserve Boulevard business at approximately 11 a.m. in reference to a report of a shoplifter in custody. Following an investigation Courtney McCray, 26, of Rittman was issued a summons for theft and was released.
Jan. 5 – Police officers responded to the 100 block of East Walnut Street at approximately 9:30 p.m. in reference to a report of a domestic disturbance.
Jan. 5 – Police responded to the 200 block of Virginia Avenue at approximately 5:45 p.m. in reference to a report of a domestic disturbance.
Jan. 5 – A resident from the 200 block of Third Street reported that three strollers were taken from her garage. A report was taken and an investigation is pending.
Jan. 4 – Police officers located a juvenile with an active warrant in the 600 block of Broad Street at approximately 12:45 p.m. The juvenile was arrested without incident and taken to the Medina County Juvenile Detention Center.
Jan. 4 – A resident from the 200 block of Baird Avenue reported an incident of identity theft. The suspect is unknown and does not appear to be local to Ohio. The case was filed for documentation purposed.
Jan. 4 – Parents of a local juvenile went to the police station to report that their child was receiving unwanted messages from another juvenile. An investigation is pending.
Rittman Police Department
Dec. 30 – An officer found a suspicious vehicle on an access road near the Gish Farm. The man and woman in the car consented to a search and the officers allegedly found some marijuana and a pot pipe. The 23-year-old Rittman man in the car claimed it and was cited for possession.
Dec. 27 – An officer followed a car through several turns, trying to pull it over for some violations, before it finally stopped on Second Street. The driver, a 46-year-old Louisville man, jumped out and police determined he had a suspended license and a felony warrant against him out of Carroll County. He was arrested and a packet of suspected cocaine was found on the ground near the stopped vehicle.
Dec. 27 – Someone stole three ladders from a South State Street residence.
Dec. 26 – Police and paramedics went to an Elm Street address for a possible overdose. Officers found the 25-year-old Rittman man on the ground, unresponsive. Paramedics administered naloxone and revived him. The victim allegedly admitted to using heroin and said he was on the schedule for rehab in Wooster. He was cited for disorderly conduct.
Doylestown Police Department
Dec. 30 – Police went to a North Portage Street address on a noise complaint and allegedly detected an odor of marijuana. The woman reportedly admitted to smoking a joint earlier and turned over the remainder. Police say they also found a metal tin of contraband in plain view. She was cited for possession and paraphernalia.
Dec. 30 – Two people were cited for disorderly conduct in an alleged domestic dispute on High Street.
Dec. 30 – Police went to an address for a domestic dispute where the man allegedly took the woman’s car keys and refuse to give them back. The man had put the keys in her car before the officers arrived.
Dec. 29 – Police and paramedics responded to a suspected overdose. Both administered naloxone to revive the victim.
Dec. 29 – A man was passed out in a vehicle at a High Street address. Paramedics checked him out and he was released to a family member.
