Jack L Hecker
Jack L Hecker, 83, of Strongsville, passed away peacefully on Feb. 5, 2017.
He was the cherished Husband of Linda J Hecker (Nee Tieman) for 58 years; devoted father of Kreg Hecker and Todd Hecker (Terri); loving grandfather of Jack and Benjamin Hecker; and dear brother-in-law and uncle to many. He was preceded in death by his father Roy, mother Hazel, sister Carol Miska, and brothers Robert and Norb.
Jack was a hall of fame athlete at Olmsted Falls High School and Bowling Green State University. He was drafted in 1956 by the Cleveland Browns but was cut before the season. He then began a career coaching football starting at BGSU, while getting his masters degree. For a total of 42 years he coached at Perrysburg High School, Mentor High School, the University of Toledo, Miami University, Marion Harding High School, and the Army Team at the United States Military Academy.
