WADSWORTH – When it comes to live entertainment, the Blue Tip Committee has decided to choose quality over quantity this year.

Local band Walking in Circles will perform at the festival grounds opening night Tuesday, June 20 from 7 to 11 p.m.

In previous years, the festival included multiple bands on multiple nights, but the committee decided it made sense to narrow it down to one.

Blue Tip Committee President Mike Leavitt said many of the bands just weren’t drawing much of a crowd.

“Then if it was raining, they maybe couldn’t play,” he said. “It was shelling out a lot of money to begin with, so we wanted to move in a different direction. A lot of what we are doing with Blue Tip is about family activities and people getting involved.”

But Leavitt said the committee still wanted to include one great local band as part of the festivities.

Walking in Circles is an eclectic rock group comprised of young local residents. The group has performed at the festival before and has been popular with festival goers.

“They are a hometown band and Blue Tip is all about showcasing our community,” Leavitt said.

Also in the realm of entertainment this year will be a new feature – “Top Dawg” Handford Dixon from the Cleveland Browns will be signing autographs at the festival Saturday, June 24 from 2 to 4 p.m.
