Resident reports male at her door acting strangely

Wadsworth Police Department

March 13 – A resident from the 200 block of Water Street contacted the police department at approximately 7:35 p.m. to report an adult male at her front door who was acting strangely. Responding officers determined that the man was suffering from exposure and Wadsworth EMS responded. Prior to their arrival it was discovered the male had drug paraphernalia on his person. The man was transported by EMS for treatment and the paraphernalia was sent to BCI for testing to determine the type of drug. Charges are pending.

March 14 – Police officers responded to the police department lobby in reference to a report of a theft complaint. An investigation is ongoing.

March 13 – A resident from the 300 block of Stonybrook Circle reported a missing or stolen package. An investigation is ongoing.

March 13 – Police officers responded to a business in the 300 block of Main Street at approximately 5:40 p.m. in reference to a report of an individual using a counterfeit bill. After an investigation Corey Davis, 24, of Water Street was arrested and charged with criminal simulation.

March 13 – Police officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Interstate 76 westbound near state Route 57. After an investigation the driver and passenger of the vehicle were issued citations for marijuana related offenses.

March 12 – Police officers stopped a vehicle on High Street near Akron Road at approximately 3:30 a.m. for multiple traffic violations. After performing field sobriety tests the driver, Marcy Otradovec, 37, of Barberton, was arrested and charged with OVI, marked lanes and improper lane change. She refused a breath test.

March 12 – Police officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of Baldwin Street at approximately 12:40 a.m. in reference to a report of a domestic disturbance. After an investigation a 29-year-old woman who lived at the residence was arrested and charged with domestic violence. She was taken to the Medina County Sheriff’s Office.

March 12 – Police officers responded to a Smokerise Drive business at approximately 8:40 p.m. in reference to a report of an individual on the premises who had a warrant. Police officers located the individual, Maurice Smith, 35, of Wooster and arrested him.

March 11 – Police officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Interstate 76 and state Route 261. The driver, Elizabeth Voytek, 29, of Cuyahoga Falls, was cited for driving under suspension and arrested on a warrant for failure to appear out of the Rittman Police Department.

March 11 – Police officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on Broad Street at approximately 2:40 a.m. for following too closely to the vehicle to the front. After an investigation the driver, Tyler Easthom, 22, of Canal Fulton, was arrested and charged with OVI. He was issued a citation and was released.

March 11 – Personnel from a business on Williams Reserve Boulevard reported that their sign near the road had been stolen. The case is under investigation.

March 11 – Police officers stopped a vehicle on Wadsworth Road shortly before 5 a.m. after observing it driving left of center. The driver, Brent Bishop, 30, of Wadsworth Road, was given sobriety tests and was later arrested and charged with OVI. He refused a breath test and was given citations and then released.

March 11 – Police officers were dispatched to the 100 block of South Pardee Street at approximately 6 p.m. in reference to a report of someone smoking marijuana in the area. The suspect, Ridge Higgins, 27, of South Pardee Street, was located and after a brief investigation he was issued minor misdemeanor citations for drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia.

March 11 – Police officers responded to a business in the 100 block of Main Street at approximately 7:40 p.m. in reference to a report of a disorderly patron. After an investigation Jeffrey Paulina, 51, of Austintown, was cited for disorderly conduct.

March 10 – The police department received a report about a trespass complaint in the 200 block of Deepwood Drive. The matter is being investigated.

March 9 – Police officers responded to a Williams Reserve Boulevard business at approximately 6:20 p.m. in reference to a report of a shoplifter in custody of loss prevention. After an investigation the suspect, Nicole Arias Detwiler, 39, of Tolbert Avenue, was arrested and taken to the Medina County Jail. Additional charges are pending.

March 9 – Wadsworth Municipal Court issued a warrant for Rita Doss for a probation violation.

March 8 – Emergency Room staff at Wadsworth-Rittman called the police department shortly before midnight to report an incident of domestic violence. The incident is under investigation.

March 8 – A resident from the 200 block of Third Street reported that someone had illegally accessed his debit card and took money from his account. The incident is under investigation.

March 8 – A resident went to the police station to report a possible case of child abuse that occurred in the city. A report was taken.

March 7 – Wadsworth Municipal Court issued a warrant for Jerrod Neal for failure to appear at a status hearing.

March 7 – A business in the 500 block of College Street reported that a series of thefts had occurred over the last four months. An investigation is ongoing.

March 7 – The police received a report about a shoplifting incident in the 1100 block of Hinkle Drive. The matter is being investigated.
