Montville Township Police

Nov. 14 – A boyfriend and girlfriend at an East Normandy Park Drive address were splitting up and the girlfriend stated she was going to come to the apartment to get her belongings. The boyfriend said he would restrict her from doing so, and she stated she would call 911 if he didn’t let her. The boyfriend decided to call 911 first to document he was “first to call.” The boyfriend was not at the residence when police arrived but the girlfriend was. Police advised her on 911 usage and that neither party should misuse it or they will be charged. She advised she would pass the information on to the boyfriend as well.

Montville Township Police

Nov. 15 – Someone reported a vehicle in their River Styx Road driveway beeping their horn at 6:30 p.m.

Nov. 15 – A dead raccoon was reported in the roadway on Wadsworth Road. The service department stated they would remove and dispose of it.

Nov. 15 – A trash truck was disabled on River Styx Road at 8:16 a.m. Flares were placed in the roadway.

Nov. 14 – Someone reported a truck on a Fox Meadow Drive golf course. Someone was doing maintenance on the course.

Nov. 14 – Police dispatched an injured deer on Medina Road and removed it.

Nov. 12 – Police stopped a driver on Medina Road for having non-working tail lights. The passenger, Furnisha Mills, 20, of Cleveland, was arrested on a warrant.

Nov. 11 – A 24-year-old resident of Hampton Court in Medina was stopped for a marked lanes violation and was reportedly in possession of marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia. He was not impaired, but he was reportedly lighting a bowl of marijuana while driving, which caused the marked lanes violation. He was cited for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia and was provided a ride home.

Nov. 11 – A 3-year-old boy was reportedly outside a Montville Trails Drive address screaming in a T-shirt and diaper at 10:42 p.m. The boy had apparently unlocked the exterior door and went outside without his father’s knowledge. The father was advised about securing the door to prevent his son from going outside.

Nov. 10 – A vehicle traveling south on Wadsworth Road in passed a slow-moving combine on a double-yellow line with a hill. As the vehicle passed the combine, another vehicle was northbound and had to swerve into a ditch to avoid a head-on collision. A 19-year-old man was stopped and issued a citation for reckless operation.

Nov. 10 – An abandoned silver Mercedes was found in the driveway of a River Styx Road resident when they came home from work. The vehicle had a flat tire and the owner was found to be in prison. The vehicle was towed.

Nov. 9 – Police received a report of a dog getting out of its house on Riverrock Way and biting a male as he was jogging on the sidewalk. The male went to urgent care with scrapes from the dog’s teeth on his right butt cheek. The owner was given a verbal warning per the victim.

Nov. 8 – Someone from a Champagne Shores address reported five koi fish were stolen from a front landscaping pond between Nov. 7-8. Police determined other wildlife was likely not responsible for the missing fish.

Medina County Sheriff

Nov. 19 — A vehicle was driven into a ditch on South Medina Line Road in Sharon Township at 11:31 p.m. The driver, a 51-year-old Akron woman, was cited for driving under suspension and reasonable control.

Medina Township Police

Nov. 23 – Police responded to a report of credit card fraud. The victim stated his credit card was number skimmed from either a Medina Road or Pearl Road gas station in October. A number of charges were made at several gas stations located in Florida. A report was taken.

Nov. 17 – Police responded to a neighborly dispute on Cook Road after a resident reportedly blew leaves with a leaf blower onto an adjacent property.

Nov. 16 – Police responded to a disturbance between a mother-in-law and son-in-law at a Hamilton Road address. Damage was reported, but police determined the matter to be civil and no charges were requested. The son-in-law stayed at a hotel for the night.

Nov. 16 – A Wildflower Lane resident called police to report a suspicious vehicle parked in the roadway at 10:04 p.m. The resident was concerned due to recent burglaries in the area. An investigation is ongoing.

Nov. 15 – Police responded to a Marks Road address in reference to damage on metal siding, likely from a BB gun. A report was taken.

Nov. 11 – A firearm was reported stolen from a truck parked on Shady Brooke Run at 4 p.m.

Wadsworth Police Department

Nov. 19 – A resident from the 500 block of West Street contacted the police department to report a theft.

Nov. 19 – Police officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Northpark Drive at approximately 9:20 p.m. to take a report about a missing person. The matter is under investigation.

Nov. 18 – Police officers spoke with a resident from the 200 block of Deepwood Drive who reported that a family member stole several checks from her and cashed them. The loss from the cashed checks was in excess of $2,800. The incident is under investigation.

Nov. 18 – Police officers made contact with a woman in the parking lot near Wadsworth Municipal Court who had a warrant out of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. Police officers reported that the woman, eventually identified as Ashley Noel, 25, of Wooster, had provided them with false information. She was arrested.

Nov. 18 – An Akron resident contacted the police department to report that his cell phone was stolen while he was at the Wadsworth YMCA. The incident is under investigation.

Nov. 18 – Police officers received information about a possible assault that occurred at Wadsworth High School. The incident is being investigated.

Nov. 17 – Police officers were called to a business in the 700 block of High Street at approximately 3:30 p.m. to investigate a suspicious vehicle. Two occupants of the vehicle, Michael Drake, 44, of Uniontown and Gregory Price, 48, of Sterling, were found to have outstanding warrants. Both men were taken into custody without incident.

Nov. 17 – A Brixton Way resident reported that he had items stolen while a construction crew was working on his house the week before. An investigation is ongoing.

Nov. 17 – A resident in the 200 block of Crestwood Avenue reported damage to her property. The incident is under investigation.

Nov. 17 – Wadsworth Municipal Court issued a warrant for Gary Love for failure to appear at a court trial on a domestic violence charge.

Nov. 17 – Police officers issued a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Akron Road and Crestwood Avenue at approximately 7:15 p.m. A passenger, Richard Greczanik, 53, of Woodland Avenue, was arrested and charged with drug possession.

Nov. 17 – Police officers responded to the 900 block of High Street shortly after noon in reference to a report of a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot. Police officers reported seeing the passenger in the vehicle allegedly abusing harmful intoxicants. The passenger was identified as Dylan Masanz, 24, of State Street. The driver, Megan Martens, 24, of High Street, also admitted to abusing harmful intoxicants. Both individuals were arrested. Masanz was taken to the Medina County Jail and Martens was later released from the Wadsworth Police Department.
