Let’s see California try and survive on their own
To the Editor:
Fox News recently referenced “CALEXIT,” a proposal seeking 600,000 signatures by July 25, 2017 to get an initiative on the California 2019 ballot. This proposal would ask California voters to repeal that part of their state constitution that declares California an inseparable part of the U.S., in other words, secede from the United States of America and become a “free, sovereign and independent country.”
The backers of the petition believe that “the U.S.A. represents so many things that conflict with ‘California Values,’ and our continued statehood means California will continue subsidizing the other states to our own detriment, and to the detriment of our children...” so they want to secede.
Somehow, I think, it’s just another example of the spoiled liberal brats associated for so long with the “left coast,” as according to Fox News, one third of California voters would support a possible secession due to their opposition to President Donald Trump. But then, are we really surprised by such juvenile behavior? Unfortunately for the rest of America, similar previous succession attempts have always failed.
Marcus Evans, vice president of “Yes California,” said “America already hates California...” (Marcus is obviously a very smart man!) It’s long been apparent to normal Americans that, for whatever the reason, the “left coast” lacks the common sense and value system of the rest of America. They seem not to understand the word “illegal,” find socialism attractive and believe that Hollywood Stars, like Madonna, know more than other Americans!
If California were to slip into the Pacific Ocean due to a big earthquake, would it be missed? Darwin would probably consider such an event a positive for the American gene pool – possibly increasing the average American IQ by at least 20 points! Consider another benefit: with Hollywood gone and no TV, cable or movies, adults could spend time parenting their children. Consider, no more “award shows” where America has to listen to the spoiled rich rant about their own personal political agendas. Imagine, evening news where real issues could be dealt with instead of wasting time on the latest stupid law passed by California, such as, “No vehicle without a driver can exceed 60mph!”
While I find the CALEXIT movement exciting, I have a suggestion for Washington, D.C.: Rather than wait and deal with California’s liberal brats until 2019, let’s get ahead of the curve on this one and kick them out! They don’t want to be here and real Americans are sick and tired of their nonsense! Let them try and survive on their own. I’ll give their liberal policies mere months before the new “country” collapses around their ears and they are at America’s doorstep wanting a calentry!
