Don’t be caught off-guard
The Canestraro Insurance Agency helps clients plan now to put them in control of their future later

COPLEY – The latest research provided by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services shows that an estimated 70 percent of Americans age 65 and older will need long-term care at some point in their lives.

As most long term care options, ranging from nursing homes and assisted living facilities to in-home health care, are already high and will only continue to grow, experts say it’s becoming critical that individuals begin planning for those expenses long before retirement so that the costs don’t catch them off-guard.

Richard Canestraro Jr. and the team at the Canestraro Insurance Agency LLC know that making long-term care planning part of their clients’ overall portfolio is key to help preserving their financial choices as they near retirement age.

To help their clients determine just how much planning they need to do, Operations Manager Steven DeBona is a certified long term care specialist who helps clients understand the benefits of long-term care planning, and determine what federal programs, such as Medicare, will pay for and what they won’t.

“What most people don’t realize is that they might not need to spend money on a premium to protect their assets. In many cases, there can be an even simpler solution, such as moving assets around and leveraging the money you already have in other areas,” DeBona said.

Having certified specialists to turn to for a free consultation when it comes to retirement and long-term care planning is just one of many assets Canestraro Insurance Agency’s clients have come to rely on since 1992. For the past 25 years, the company, which is licensed to sell everything from auto, home, business, life and health insurance, has been dedicated to helping its clients insure what they value most. The agency has also helped many clients with what to do with their funds after they have accumulated them in their retirement accounts.

“Everyone talks about funding a 401K, but very few people know how to distribute it to make it last a lifetime.” Canestraro states. “Everything we do is based on the needs of our clients. We are not in the business of selling products. We are in the business of finding products to suit our clients’ needs.”

The Canestraro Insurance Agency offers a variety of products and services from multiple carriers, which allows Canestraro and his three member staff the luxury of being able to match their clients and their needs with the right carrier.

“With all our years of expertise, combined with the number of insurance companies and various products we represent, we will always find a product that will suit our clients’ needs instead of funneling them into a product that isn’t the right solution for them,” Canestraro said.

For its ability to meet its clients’ needs time and time again, Canestraro and his agency, which boasts a combined total of 75 years of financial and insurance experience, have been named a member of the Million Dollar Roundtable — a trade association formed in 1927 and comprised of members who have demonstrated exceptional professional knowledge, strict ethical conduct and outstanding client service.

The same way the Canestraro Insurance Agency has invested itself in its clients’ well-being, the company also makes it a priority to give back to the community it serves. In addition to supporting a number of youth baseball, softball and football teams in the Fairlawn/Akron, Copley and Wadsworth communities, the company has also assisted a number of sports booster clubs, 4-H and the Medina County Fair, the Boys & Girls Club of Summit County and the East Akron Neighborhood Development. The company was also instrumental in sponsoring a new scoreboard for the Wadsworth High School stadium.

Moving forward, Canestraro said the agency is looking to partner with other agencies to bring even more opportunities to the local market.

“We at the Canestraro Agency take pride in helping our clients find the lowest cost insurance solution while also providing excellent coverage options for you, your family, or your business,” Canestraro said. “With the abundance of online insurance companies out there, we strive to develop personal relationships with our clients so that we’re not just a voice on the other end of the phone. We want to learn more about you and your needs.”
