All fifth-grade Highland students from Granger, Hinckley and Sharon elementary schools had the opportunity to listen to guest speaker and NASA astronaut Michael Foreman May 12 in the Highland High School auditorium. Foreman spoke about his missions on the International Space Station and allowed students to ask questions about his career, space, space travel, his schooling and even occupations at NASA. Foreman, who grew up in Wadsworth and currently lives in Texas, was assigned technical duties in the Astronaut Office Space Station Branch. He is the veteran of two space flights including STS-123 in 2008 and STS-129 in 2009. Additionally, he has logged more than 637 hours in space, including 32 hours and 19 minutes of EVA in five spacewalks.
