No Medina County Democratic ballot available for May 2 election
Uncontested, candidates automatically nominated

MEDINA COUNTY – There will be a Republican Primary ballot available in part of Medina County and a Questions & Issues ballot available in most of the county, but there will be no Democratic ballot available for the May 2, 2017 election.

The cities of Brunswick and Wadsworth will have no run-off elections necessary in the May election. All candidates in these cities who filed for the May Primary Election will be on the Nov. 7, 2017 ballot.

A Republican Primary Election will be held in the Medina Municipal Court District May 2. Voters in the district will have a choice between two ballots: Republican or Questions & Issues.

This district includes voters in the township of Brunswick Hills, Chatham, Granger, Hinckley, Lafayette, Litchfield, Liverpool, Medina, Montville, Spencer and York; the villages of Chippewa Lake and Spencer; and the cities of Brunswick and Medina.

Voters who do not live in the Medina Municipal Court District will have only a Question & Issues ballot available. There are voters in parts of the townships of Guilford, Sharon, Wadsworth and Westfield that have nothing to vote on in this election.

There is no Democratic Primary ballot because the primary was not necessary. All Democratic candidates who filed for the May election were uncontested and automatically nominated. They will appear on the nov. 7 General Election ballot.

Early voting for the May 2 election will begin April 4. Voters may vote in person at the board office or apply to receive an absentee ballot in the mail. A voter appearing to vote at the polls on Election Day to whom an absentee ballot has been issued will be required to vote a Provisional ballot that cannot be counted for at least 10 days after the election.
