Lucille Marilyn Johnson, 90, passed away Friday, Nov. 18, 2016. She was born in Akron on Jan. 31, 1926, to the late Herman and Anna (Vlaikovitz) Vongunten. Lucy was a 48-year member of the Sharon United Methodist Church and led a Girl Scout troop. She was also a member of the Sharon Center Women’s Club and Sharon Center Historical Society. Lucy will always be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother.

Lucy is survived by her daughter, Terri (Bruce) Johnson; son-in-law, John Weiss; grandchildren, Kristen (Joshua) Abraham, Katilin (Adam) Franz; great-grandson, Wilhelm Franz; sister, Sally Davies; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Dale Johnson; daughter, Tamara Johnson Weiss; and siblings, Wilford, Jack, Ethel and Margaret.

Private services will take place. Final resting place will be at Sharon Center Cemetery.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at the Inn at Coal Ridge in Wadsworth for their loving care for Lucy.
