Evicted tenant found passed out in garage
North Royalton Police
July 28 – An employee at an Oakhill Drive complex reported an evicted tenant was possibly living inside one of the garages which he had previously rented but had failed to pay for. Officers approached the garage and found the man, Joshua Walker, asleep on the floor. A camper was parked in the garage, and it appears as if someone had been living and sleeping there. He was arrested for criminal trespass.

Aug. 2 – A male was found deceased at a Pine Forest Drive residence after a concerned friend called the property manager; the body was showing signs of decomposition. A cat was also found and taken by the Animal Control officer.

Aug. 2 – A vehicle was stopped for expired plates and expired license on Sprague Road at 2:28 a.m. The driver, Oscar Marcano, was arrested for drug abuse and possession of paraphernalia after rolling papers and joints were allegedly found in the vehicle. He was also cited for driving under suspension and expired plates.

Aug. 1 – A vehicle was stopped at 2:09 a.m. after it was seen stopped for no reason in the middle of the northbound lane on Ridge Road. The driver, Brandon Fritz, of Illinois, was arrested for OVI. A false ID from Illinois was also allegedly found in his vehicle. Fritz was also cited for weaving, two headlights required, prohibited acts (fake ID) and left of center.

Aug. 1 – A vehicle was stopped on West 130th Street at 3:36 a.m. as the officer knew the vehicle’s owner had a suspended license and for not having a front license plate. The driver, Rachelle Holmes, reportedly at first gave a false name to the officer and had Chore Boy all over her car, a sign of crack usage. She was arrested after an officer found she allegedly had prescription pills that were not prescribed to her. Officers allegedly found a plethora of drugs and paraphernalia in her vehicle, including a crack pipe, heroin and a “heroin kit” shoebox containing needles, spoons, tie strap and pieces of cotton. She was arrested and charged with OVI, possession of dangerous drugs, falsification and other counts. Felony drug charges are pending.

July 31 – An officer approached a vehicle parked in a Metroparks lot at West 130th Street and Valley Parkway at 4 a.m. A female was talking on her phone and exited her vehicle when the officer approached. Ann Elizabeth Zifchak, of North Royalton, was arrested for OVI.

July 30 – An unknown male reportedly slapped a woman on the butt while they were both at a Royalton Road business around 12:45 a.m. The male reportedly left eastbound. Staff reported they were in the process of kicking the man out for inappropriate behavior. An attempt to identify the male using bar tabs was unsuccessful.

July 30 – A vehicle going down the hill on Tilby Road was seen braking multiple times to maintain a reasonable speed and that a brake light was found around 2 a.m. The vehicle then stopped at a business at York and Sprague roads. Marijuana, glass pipes and an open container were allegedly found in the vehicle. Emily Adkins was cited for possession of paraphernalia, drug abuse and open container while the driver was given a warning about the light.

July 29 – A vehicle was stopped for weaving and failure to signal on Ridge Road at 3:05 a.m. The driver, David Lastafka II, was arrested for OVI and was reportedly unable to conduct a breath test after two attempts. He was also cited for marked lanes and failure to signal.

July 29 – A vehicle was stopped on Royalton Road for failing to signal when getting into a turning lane and then when it went back into the westbound lane around 1:40 a.m. The driver, Michael Batenchuk, was arrested for OVI and cited for marked lanes and failure to use turn signal.

July 22 – An officer went to a possible disabled vehicle in the area of Albion Road and West 130th Street around 12:30 a.m. where a vehicle missed a driveway and went into a ditch. The driver, Angelica Sullivan, was reportedly on her phone and smelled of marijuana when the officer arrived. A straw with white powder on it and a dollar bill were reportedly found in a bag on her person; she allegedly admitted it was Percocet. Joints, pills believed to contain codeine and other paraphernalia were allegedly found in her vehicle, along with two large cones belonging to another city. Sullivan was arrested and charged with attempted drug abuse, possession of a dangerous drug, receiving stolen property, possession of drug abuse instruments, possession of paraphernalia, drug abuse, reasonable control and driving on lawns.
