Suspect begging for money wanted in Pennsylvania

Wadsworth Police Department
Jan. 21 – A citizen flagged down a police officer and reported that a suspicious man had just approached her soliciting money for gas at a gas station in the 900 block of High Street. Officers made contact with the man, identified as Howard Kirk, 39, of Pennsylvania. Officers reported that the man was highly intoxicated and also discovered he fled from a felony domestic assault in Pennsyvlania earlier that night and had an active arrest warrant with the Pennsylvania State Police. Officers also reported that he resisted arrest and threatened deadly force against the officers. Once detained he was charged with resisting arrest and was taken to the Medina County Jail where he awaited extradition to Pennsylvania where he will face felony charges.

Jan. 27 – Police officers initiated a traffic stop on State Street near Seville Road at approximately 1:40 a.m. after witnessing a vehicle travel left of center. After an investigation the driver Robert Krumwiede, 27, of Amherst, was arrested and charged with OVI.

Jan. 26 – Wadsworth Municipal Court issued a warrant for Justin Chmielewski for failure to appear at a change of plea hearing.

Jan. 26 – A resident from the 200 block of Simcox Street reported that she was a victim of telecommunications fraud.

Jan. 25 – Police officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Sunset Boulevard at approximately 6:05 p.m. in reference to a report of a disturbance involving a juvenile. After a brief investigation, a report was taken and forwarded to the Medina County Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office for review.

Jan. 25 – Police officers responded to a Williams Reserve Boulevard business shortly before noon in reference to a report of a suspect who had been apprehended for shoplifting. She was taken to the police station where she was issued a citation for theft. She was identified as Julie Zoldock, 46, of Norton.

Jan. 25 – Police received a report about a theft involving fraudulent checks. The incident is under investigation.

Jan. 23 – Police officers responded to a residence in the 600 block of Farr Avenue at approximately 6:15 p.m. in reference to a report of an unruly juvenile. After an investigation the juvenile was arrested on charges of menacing and criminal damaging. The juvenile was transported to the Medina County Juvenile Detention Center.

Jan. 23 – Wadsworth Municipal Court issued a warrant for Dustin Blount for failure to appear for a status hearing on a theft charge.

Jan. 23 – A resident from the 200 block of East Bergey Street reported a possible identity theft. The incident is under investigation.

Jan. 23 – Police officers and EMS personnel responded to the 400 block of High Street at approximately 7:25 p.m. in reference to a report of an unresponsive person in the parking lot. Officers suspected a drug overdose was the cause and the subject was treated with Narcan and became responsive. He was transported to Summa Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital. There are no charges at this time.

Jan. 22 – Police officers initiated a traffic stop on Leatherman Road near Great Oaks Trail shortly after 1 a.m. for a marked lanes violation. Following an investigation Brian Snider, 40, of Grindle Road, was charged with OVI.

Jan. 22 – Police officers made a traffic stop on College Street near Kyle Street at approximately 1:20 a.m. for a traffic lane violation. After an investigation the driver, Devaughnte Askew, 25, of Thelma Drive, was arrested and charged with OVI.

Jan. 22 – A resident from the 100 block of Euclid Avenue reported receiving threatening text messages from someone who claimed he owed them money. The case is under investigation.

Jan. 21 – Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the 300 block of Johnson Road at approximately 1:20 a.m. After an investigation the driver, Christopher Moore, 56, of Clinton, was arrested and charged with OVI.

Jan. 21 – Police officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of East Walnut Street at approximately 10:20 p.m. in reference to a fight reported by an anonymous caller. Upon arrival the parties were already separated and no one was arrested or charged.

Jan. 21 – Police officers initiated a traffic stop on a black Mercedes SUV at the intersection of state Route 261 and Williams Reserve Boulevard at approximately 12:10 a.m. The driver, Luther Harmon, 59, of Sandpiper Lane, allegedly attempted to drive away from the scene. He was eventually stopped and was arrested and charged with OVI and failure to comply with the signal of a police officer.

Jan. 20 — Wadsworth Municipal Court issued a warrant for Amanda Pollack for failure to appear at an arraignment.

Jan. 20 – Wadsworth Municipal Court issued a warrant for Brittany Slovick for failure to appear at an arraignment.

Jan. 20 – Police officers were dispatched to the 300 block of North Lyman Street at approximately 6:45 p.m. in reference to a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, police officers made contact with both parties who were separated and calm. After a brief investigation both parties involved were issued minor misdemeanor citations for disorderly conduct.

Jan. 19 – Police officers arrested Christopher Bibey, 36, of Akron after he was accused of a theft from a Williams Reserve Boulevard store. Officers reported that Bibey provided them with false information and also reported that he had several outstanding warrants.

Jan. 19 – Wadsworth Municipal Court issued a warrant for Antwaine Bethune for failure to appear at an arraignment on driving under suspension charges.

Jan. 19 – Police officers assisted the Medina County Drug Task Force with an investigation. At approximately 6 p.m. they arrested two individuals, Mathew McCullough, 31, of Akron and Jessica Blazeff, 31, of Norton, on Williams Reserve Boulevard and charged them with trafficking in drugs.

Jan. 18 – A resident from the 100 block of Main Street reported a theft.
