Medina Township Police
March 14 – A woman called police to report an incident that occurred during a soccer game the previous weekend at a township park. The woman wanted the incident documented and also requested a police presence during future games.
Medina Police
March 20 – Police were called to an Ellington Court address due to an unruly juvenile at 9:44 p.m. The juvenile was advised by an officer to be cognizant of her mother’s rules.
March 20 – A male at a West Liberty Street address called police after receiving unwanted phone calls and text messages from a female subject. The female subject advised to cease contact and asked that the male reciprocate.
March 20 – Someone called police to have dead birds removed from the roadway of Hillview Way at 9:05 a.m.
March 20 – A 33-year-old homeless man at a North Court Street business asked employees to call 911, stating he was overdosing. Police arrived and found the man to be a subject who had previously been threatening suicide by taking a surplus of sleeping pills during a phone call with a suicide hotline. Multiple police agencies were involved in searching for the man. The man was left in the custody of medical officials.
March 19 – Police were called to a disturbance at a Brookland Drive address, where a man was reportedly in an altercation with his grandmother at 6:17 p.m. The male, Brandon L. Berry, 23, of Akron, was arrested on charges of criminal trespass, domestic violence and violating a protection order. Police report Berry allegedly made threats to his grandmother.
March 19 – A burglary was reported and a TV stolen from a West Liberty Street apartment at 10:56 a.m.
March 18 – A vehicle was reported stolen from a West Liberty Street address at 3:26 p.m. Tysean M. Gaston, 30, of Abbeyville Road, was arrested and charged with joyriding.
March 18 – Police responded to a disturbance at a North Court Street business at 10:20 p.m. Ronald J. Rini, 33, of Seville, was arrested for persistent disorderly conduct.
Montville Township Police
March 9 – A white male driving a black pickup truck with a cap on the bed reportedly stopped near a juvenile female on Ridgestone Way at 5:22 p.m. and asked if she liked cookies. The area was checked but police could not locate the vehicle.
March 8 – Police stopped a vehicle for an improper turn on Red Tail Court at 8:39 p.m. A 60-year-old Montville Township resident, Jack Dankewalter, was arrested for OVI after reportedly registering a .216 BAC.
March 8 – A vehicle traveling south on River Styx Road was hit by a fallen tree. The vehicle sustained a dent on the passenger side A-piller. No injuries were reported.
March 8 – A power line fell on River Styx Road and was reportedly sparking.
March 8 – A vehicle traveling north on Wadsworth Road was hit by a falling tree branch. No injuries were reported and the vehicle sustained minor damage to the driver’s side rear fender.
March 8 – Police removed tree limbs from the roadway on River Styx Road with the help of the county highway department.
March 7 – The brother of a Wedgewood Road resident reportedly crawled through the resident’s window and called him names. A trespass notice was issued to the brother.
March 7 – Someone reported a tree in the road on River Styx road, but someone removed the obstruction before police could arrive.
March 7 – Police assisted an Emerald Lakes Drive resident in getting back into her house after her two-year-old locked the door when the resident went outside to get her son off the bus.
March 7 – Someone reported a loose horse was in their neighbor’s yard on Fixler Road. Police contacted the horse’s owner and they were able to wrangle the horse.
Medina Township Police
March 14 – Credit card fraud of more than $12,000 was reported by a Granger Road resident. A report for theft was taken.
March 5 – Police arrested a suspect wanted for shoplifting at a Medina Road grocery store at a gas station up the street. The suspect was transported to the county jail on two warrants.
March 3 – Police responded to report of a shoplifter at a Pearl Road retail store at 4:20 p.m. A female allegedly stole a computer printer and a rug.
